With its vibrant orange-yellow color and slightly tangy flavor, apricot jam is a delightful way to enjoy apricots all winter long. Creating the perfect apricot jam requires some special tips and a great recipe. Here’s everything you need to know:
Apricot Jam Tips
- Choose fragrant apricots that are firm but not too soft.
- While boiling, skim off any foam with a wooden spoon.
- Fill your jars with jam when it’s cold and seal them tightly.
Apricot Jam Recipe
Ingredients:
- 2 kilos of apricots
- 2 pounds of sugar
- Half a teaspoon of lemon powder
Instructions:
- Start by washing the apricots. Remove the seeds, cut them into desired sizes, and place them in a deep pot.
- Pour 1 kilogram of sugar over the apricots, cover the pot, and let it sit overnight.
- In the morning, place the pot on the stove and cook the apricots for about 45 minutes. Skim off any foam with a spoon.
- Add the lemon powder 10 minutes before the jam is done cooking.
- Once the jam thickens, remove it from the heat and let it cool.
- Transfer the cooled jam to jars and seal them tightly to prolong their shelf life.
